Traffic tickets commonly written by officers with the Dallas Police Department include speeding violations, and citations for offenses such as failing to fasten a seat belt, running a red light, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and driving without valid car insurance. If you are pulled over by a law enforcement official in the City of Dallas, or in another Dallas County community, and written a traffic ticket, points will be added to your driving record if you decide to plead guilty to your violation. Sometimes, however, drivers choose to challenge their traffic tickets instead, whether because they cannot afford points added to their records, or because they believe the officer who wrote them the ticket was wrong to do so. If you have decided to dispute your Dallas traffic violation, the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno may be retained to represent you in the Dallas Municipal Court, in an effort to work out a plea deal for you (such as deferred adjudication or driving safety courses). We may also be hired to fight your case in court, before a judge and jury panel, if you believe that your case would benefit more from a trial. We may be retained to represent you in court whether you have a Class C driver's license or a CDL. Perhaps a traffic ticket you were recently issued in Dallas has slipped your mind. If you have come to the realization that your ticket is now overdue, keep in mind that the Dallas Municipal Court regularly issues arrest warrants for drivers with outstanding violations. If a traffic warrant has been issued for you by the Municipal Court, you may soon be arrested and thrown behind bars. Are you worried that you will soon be arrested in Dallas because of your traffic warrant? Jack Byno & Associates may be hired to post your bond and to get your warrant lifted, so that you may avoid incarceration. Another reason to get your warrant lifted as soon as possible is the annual Dallas Warrant Roundup. A branch of the State-wide Great Texas Warrant Roundup, the Dallas Warrant Roundup is a time during which law enforcement is required to arrest motorists who have pending traffic warrants.
Commercial truckers, school bus drivers, ambulance drivers and other motorists who hold a CDL must be especially careful to obey traffic law at all times, as their careers are dependent upon their clean driving records. But if you are pulled over in Dallas, Texas, and issued a ticket for speeding or another moving violation, you have a right, just like any other driver, to challenge your violation in hopes of protecting your record (and your means of living). As a CDL holder, you are ineligible for deferred adjudication, driving safety courses and other alternatives to points added to your driving record, but our law firm is experienced when it comes to disputing Dallas CDL and trucking violations. We may be able to reach a satisfactory deal on your behalf in the Dallas Municipal Court.
Has the Texas Department of Public Safety (Texas DPS) mailed you a Notice of Suspension? If so, it means that your driver's license has been set for suspension, and you have only 20 days to respond and request a DL suspension hearing with DPS. While there are a number of possible reasons behind the imminent suspension of your driver's license, including Dallas drunk driving charges, failure to pay State Surcharges and even doctor recommendation, if you are granted a DL suspension hearing, it will be held in the Dallas County Justice of the Peace Court. The Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno may be retained to represent you at this hearing, where we would do our best to see that your DL suspension is overruled.
Has your driver's license already been suspended by DPS? If so, and if you are now finding it difficult to get by on a day-to-day basis, you may benefit from an Occupational Driver's License (ODL). An Occupational DL, if granted to you, would allow you legal but restricted access to the roads while your regular driver's license is suspended. If you hire our law firm to apply for an ODL on your behalf, and if one is granted to you, you must be sure to follow any and all driving restrictions that may come with it, lest you be charged with Driving While License Invalid (DWLI). Common ODL driving restrictions include when and where you may drive to, while repercussions of DWLI can include arrest, costly court fines and extended DL suspension.
